First, you need to register. It’s simple. Click any register now button and submit the requested information – like your name, email address, the club you belong to, and your USGA Certifiable Handicap. Be sure to have your USGA Certifiable Handicap with you when you first sit down at the computer to register. You’ll need it. A verification email will be sent to you soon thereafter, which means you've been approved by your gold professional and eligible to play. Everything else is handled behind the scenes. It’s that easy.
The one-time tournament fee is $100 – a portion of which will be donated to two organizations whose mission we strongly support and believe in - Golf Fights Cancer and The First Tee.
Once the registration period ends you will be assigned to a virtual team within a specific flight. Having completed the registration process, a Members Cup bag tag will be set aside for you at your pro shop where you should plan to pick it up prior to your first round of play.
What makes The Members Cup different from other tournaments? In a word, convenience.
That’s because competition for The Members Cup is played over the course of three months, not three days. Better still, qualifying rounds can be played at any eligible course including your home course, and at your convenience. You’ll just need to declare the round (through the cooperation of your pro shop staff) and play it prior to each of the four qualifying dates. Top teams from each flight will earn a spot in the Championship Event.
The tournament uses a familiar point quota format for scoring rounds. We’ve arranged to have specially created Members Cup scorecards available at all eligible private club pro shops. Check in with your pro shop to pick up a scorecard and declare the round. You’ll need the scorecard to track your eagles, birdies, bogeys and pars during play. Like traditional tournaments, you’ll be required to sign your card, and have both a playing partner and a member of the golf staff attest it.
As we all know, golf is a game of honor, but to keep peace and to ensure the integrity of the tournament, we require your club’s golf staff to input the scores from your declared rounds. The best three of the four scores submitted by each team will be counted to determine aggregate point totals. See Frequently Asked Questions for more information on format, scoring and tournament rules.
